I decided to pen down some quick thoughts on happiness. Happiness to me is contentment. Whenever people are being asked if they’re happy in life, they begin to attach their source of joy to materials things and achievements, not knowing that even when they get those things, they will still wish there are other things they wish they could have.
I’m very big on wanting to make the most out of life but at the same time, I shouldn’t make those things determine the state of my being. I’ve read and seen people go suicidal due to depression, and not too many people are bold enough to talk about their experiences.
I’ve been guilty of wanting what other people have but I’ve also seen that such people only show that particular aspect of their lives (myself included). Happiness is self-inflicted.
Happiness is free. Happiness starts with you. If you’re not
happy content with yourself, it’s going to be difficult for you to celebrate others.
Life is to be lived one day at a time while striving for growth in every area of it. My ultimate reason for joy is being able to fulfill God’s purpose and plan for my life.
We all need to redefine our concept of happiness.
